The Meaning of Christmas

It is evident that Christmas is drawing near with all the shopping malls beautifully decorated.

While many are busy shopping and stocking up early Christmas presents, I was wondering how many of us actually fully understand the meaning of Christmas?

The meaning of Christmas has been commercialised and blurred.
Many thought Christmas is all about having fun, parties and a great Christmas dinner

Very often, people gathered at posh restaurants or anywhere else..tucked in 10 course Christmas dinner, do some silly countdowns, get drank and have a lousy hangover the next day.

So, exactly what is Christmas?

Christmas is a celebration for the birth of Jesus Christ.
It is a joyful occasion because it was out of Love that God gave the world His only Son, Jesus.
To be born in flesh, all pure and blameless to walk upon the earth 2009 years ago.

Has anyone remembered that Christmas is all about giving and loving just as He did?

Take a moment to ponder..
Be different..
Do something meaningful..
Show some love to the needy & poor..

Donate blood, give life..
Buy some groceries, deliver them to Old Folks Home
Call up some charity organisations, offer some help
Dont pretend to be asleep, offer your seat to that pregnant lady near the train door.

May all these will make your 2009 Christmas a more meaningful one ;)

I chanced upon Azmi's photos in facebook. Saw Pinkie and Lucas, his 2 beautiful Chihuahuas.

Something stirred within me. Somehow, Lucas reminds me of you.

1.30am-I peeped under the bed, hoping to catch a glance of you dreaming away.

But the empty bed space reminds me that you're resting in eternal slumber.

I woke up and you were nowhere to be seen.

Nike bounced around happily, totally unaware of your absence.

I called out for you but reality sets in.

Nevertheless, I called Kenneth and demanded for you to come home.

Kenneth said, " It's too late, my dear! She is already gone.'

Tears swelled and choked my voice.

I sobbed terribly into the phone and tell him how much I want you back.

Kenneth listened and consoled, 'Cry and grieve for all you may, for the death of a pet is never an easy one.'

'Do you want to reconsider?', my vet asked.

'It's alright, I dont want her be in daily misery. Please proceed.' I calmy said.

I left you behind without saying goodbye and kiss on your white muzzle.

I wonder what were your thoughts then?

Sometimes, Goodbye is easier when there are less emotions.

Thankyou for being with me from 1994 to 2008.

Thankyou for being ever so forgiving, loving and gracious towards all..

The long walks and runs, the silly hide & seeks and the fun at the playground..I remembered them all.

Everytime I look into Nike's eyes, I know she can never replaces you.

When I longed for you, I closed my eyes and thank God for this wonderful friendship you gave.

Have fun on the green meadows with other furry kids.
